YBCA – I Am Home: A Musical Reflection on Love, Migration and Identity.

I am beyond excited to be a part of SF Sonido Fest at YBCA  this ThursdayDecember 1st, 2016 as my bandmates, my music collaborators and I present this program. Now more than ever I want to sing these songs! The songs that bring us to our Home: Home as body, Home as spirit, Home as community, Home as one people of this Earth. Join us as we perform to celebrate our light, our strength, our unity and our dreams.

I will be accompanied by this amazing group of beings/collaborators.

Danny Cao, trumpet
Thomas Edler, upright and electric bass
Andrew Maguire, vibraphone, drums, percussion
Patrick Wolff, clarinet, tenor sax
Amaranth String Quartet
Awesöme Orchestra Collective – David Möschler (conductor)
With string quartet arrangements by Minna Choi, Nahuel Bronzini
and orchestral arrangements by Yvette Holzwarth, Patrick Wolff, Brian McCune.

PLUS! Be part of a new song! In the YBCA lobby, before and after the concert, you will have an opportunity to participate in the making of a song with your thoughts about “Home”. At the end of the weekend I will gather all your words and thoughts and will write a song inspired by what you share with me. Make sure to stop by the songwriting table!

So much heart and work are being put into this program, I really do hope you will be a part of it!

Much light and love,
Diana

More about Sf Sonido Fest (Dec 1- 4):
The four-day music festival explores themes of freedom and social justice from both physical and historical boundaries. Three outstanding artists are also performing that weekend: Venezuelan jazz pianist Edward Simon & Ensemble Venezuela featuring Venezuelan singer-songwriter Maria Alejandra Rodriguez, Nueva trova superstar Carlos Varela from Cuba, and Garifuna master singer-songwriter Aurelio from Honduras.
